Hollister's Church Bell
Every Sunday the bell at Hollister Presbyterian tolls at 11:00 a.m. to welcome all to worship. The bell was donated to the church shortly after the building's construction. Mrs. Tryer, a grocery store owner in Hollister, ordered the bell from Montgomery Ward in Chicago. The bell arrived in Hollister on a riverboat. Church member Earl Gibson then transported the bell from the White River up the hill to the church with his mule and hack. The bell was installed in the church belfrey. Although it can't be seen, the sound of the bell faithfully ringing each Sunday reminds all of God's faithfulness to us and our community.
